We tried a couple of layer combinations before finding the right height. That setup process takes a little patience, but once adjusted the pillow looks proportionate on a smaller bed and my child seems more comfortable.

Gentle support that can be tuned works beautifully in daily use
Being able to remove layers made it much easier to get a height that suited my child instead of guessing at one fixed pillow. The final setup feels soft on the surface but still keeps the head from dropping too low.
